12 MOS STATS: 21 lbs 11oz (70th percentile) - 29 3/4" (75 percentile) - 17 3/4" (53 percentile - head circumference). She grew sooo much since 9 months!
TALKING: Ashlyn is saying and understanding so much these days. She copies so many words that we say. Here's what Ashlyn is saying these days:
HOT - whenever I put food on her high chair, she says 'hot mama?' - and I say 'no Ashlyn, it's not hot'- then she proceeds to eat it, its so cute!
HAT - she points to everyone's hats or when she's wearing one and says 'hat'!
DUCK- we have flash cards and she when the duck comes up she says 'duck'. Then we'll say what does a duck say and she says 'quack, quack'.
DOGGIE - she points out a dog and says 'ufff, ufff, ufff'
other words (all used in context): MAMA, DADA, BABA, BALL, UP, NITE-NITE.
Ashlyn also understands so much. She will hand something to us when we ask her to, when we say 'no', she stops and looks and leaves the situation (usually). She impresses us everyday!
MAMA's GIRL - she has become quite the mama girl lately (which I love). She comes to me for comfort, when she's scared, hurt or not quite sure about a situation.
WALKING (pretty much) - Ashlyn is walking, but still also crawling. She will take about 10-15 steps but she's much better at crawling and still does for the majority of the time. We have started to make her wear shoes when we go out to encourage her to walk, instead of crawl. She's starting to like her shoes too. She'll grab them, sit down and pat them on her feet - as if she's telling us to put them on. So cute!
NIBBLING - Ashlyn is a toe nibbler and it's sooo funny! If you're sitting there and your toes re exposed, she will crawl over and try to nibble on them. I think it's hilarious! Of course we tell her no, because we obviously don't won't her doing this, but deep down, it truly is funny!
PLAYING - she LOVES to play, play, play. For her birthday, we bought her a play kitchen (and thanks for all her aunties, she has so many play pieces for it now too). She absolutely loves it and will play with it for so long. I love just watching her play by herself and watch her little brain in action. She also got a pottery barn big girl chair from my parents which she also LOVES! She won't let anyone sit in it! If I sit in it, she'll crawl over, grab my arm or shirt, grunt and try to pull me out - well excuse me! She grabs her Elmo and her babies, and puts them all on the chair with her and she'll sit and watch Sesame Street with her little friends - it's way too cute!
Also - check out her hair! It's growing like crazy and she has BIG, beautiful curls - lucky girl!

love it, she is so funny and so smart! very cute pics!
