Introducing Cade Matthew Tilton!!

Our precious baby boy Cade Matthew arrived on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 9:54 a.m.  He is absolutely perfect and such a love bug.  Here's how is arrival went...

Monday, March 7th I had my 39 week OB appointment in the a.m. and my doctor stripped my membranes and checked me -- I was 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced. Then latter that afternoon I went and had a massage which felt so good and I actually fell asleep during it.  I came home, had dinner, put Ashlyn to bed and still no contractions.   Matt and I went to bed at 10 p.m.,  kissed each other good night, thinking "maybe tomorrow will be the day?"  - we had been saying this for a few weeks.  Then, at 1:30 a.m. I woke up to a full on contraction!!  I didn't wake Matt up because I wanted to see if this was 'really' it or if these were just braxton hicks like before.  Then, they kept coming on and so I woke Matt and up and we started timing them.  I tried to sleep in-between the contractions since I only had 3 hours but no luck there.  By about 4 a.m.,  they were getting stronger and closer together.  So we called our doc and she said, head on over the Hospital.  So, we started to get our last minute things together, called my parents at about 4:45 to come over (Ashlyn was obviously still asleep).  By 5 a.m., my contractions were about 3 minutes apart and getting stronger -- this baby was coming!!  We got the hospital at 5:30 a.m.,  I checked in and they checked me and I was 6 cm dilated.  I decided that I was going to get an epidural and I didn't want to wait until 9 1/2 cm like I did with Ashlyn.  So I got one at about 7:30 a.m.,  I was dilated to a 7 and then my water broke right after that, on it's own.  My RN checked me at about 8:30 a.m. and I was 10cm dilated and 100% effaced, ready to go.  My ob came in and said she had to do some charting first and then she was going to delivery our baby boy.   We just sat there, listening to music and waiting for her to come back in...our RN had us do a few "practice" pushes but these pushes were the real deal and Cade's head was right there and I could see his brown hair in the mirror that I asked for!!  Then my OB came in, set-up, I pushed 3 times and out came our beautiful baby boy!!!

I couldn't believe how smooth and quick this time around was.   Once Cade entered the world, he layed on my chest for about an hour and nursed.  This is truly the BEST time!  After that, they cleaned him off and we went into our post-pardum room where Ashlyn, my parents, Kelsey and Butch came on in.   Ashlyn was so excited to see me and Matt and immediately wanted to come lay with me on the bed.  She came on up and snuggled with me and Cade and it was a moment I will never forget.  She kept looking at him and saying "baby mommy" -- and I would say "yes, Ashy, that's our baby Cade".  My two love bugs, pure bliss!
