A Proud Mommy

I am WAY overdue on posts, I know.  I have a lot of updating to do and have promised myself to get up to spead and stay on top of this because I love being able to look back at all of this. So, more on that to come.

 I had to post about something that happened tongiht while it's fresh in my memory.  Laterly, Ashlyn likes me to tell her stories when she goes to bed and tonight we had a full conversation for about 30 minutes.  Ashlyn started saying words pretty early on and now speaks in complete sentences but I guess with all the craziness of 2 kids, going back to work and just enjoying the summer, I didn't realize how well she does talk until just now.  She not only speaks well, but she's funny and uses expressions says things I had no idea she knew.  So here's how our conversation went:

Ashlyn: Mommy, Ashy's buf-day coming up
Me: You're right, you're birthday is coming up.  How old are you going to be?
A: TWO!
Me: yep, big two year old!
A: Ariel bur-day party at the lake, mommy, with snow white cake that Ashy eats first
Me: yep, you can have an Ariel party with a Snow White cake.  You want to have the first bite of your cake?
A: yes, Ashy eat cake first then share
Me: Ok. Who do you want to invite and share your cake with?
A: Wee-wa (Leila), Haw-pur (Harper), Tatiana and Twa-cy (Liliana and Tracy), Auntie Kew-sy (Kelsey), Uncle Mawk, Butch, Nana, Pop. Oh, and Mommy, Daddy and Caders - duh!
Me: We can invite all of those people of course! What do you want for your birthday sweetie?
A: Presents?
Me: Yes, birthday presents!
A: Ashy wants a Belle dress and bike!  Pants off (as she's now trying to take he pj's off) - Belle dress on mommy.
Me: Ashy, you don't have a Belle dress yet - don't you want one for your birthday?
A: oh yes mommy, pweese!
Me: Well if you're a good girl maybe you will get one.
A: Ashy also want a bike, mommy
Me: Oh, that's a great thing to ask for!
A: Ashy willy want Belle dress and bike Mommy (as she's getting really excited)
A: Oh, and sing "happy buf-day to Ashy, happy buf-day to Ashy"!!
Me: yes, we will all sing Happy Birthday to you
A: (now she's soooo excited) Ya! Ashy buf-day coming up!!!

She is just getting so big, and smart, and funny and is just as sweet as can be.  She will look you right in the eye, be very serious, compassionate and is very goofy at times too.  She loves to dance, loves princesses and adores her "Caders" or  as she calls him sometimes, "Bubba" -- and loves giving Daddy kisses all day long (and me too but I just LOVE seeing her run up to Matt and kiss him right on the lips).  She also talks about her Nana and Pop everyday.  Whenever I'm on the phone she asks me "who's that" and when I tell her she says "oh, thanks"!   She's calls me her "best fwend mommy" and she is mine too!
