The Holidays

Over the Holidays we were all over So. Cal. On the 23rd, we took Ashlyn up to downtown Disney to have dinner with Matt's uncle and 2 cousins and their kids. They were all really excited to meet Ashlyn! Matt's cousins Jena has twin 3 year olds and it was really cute to see them look at Ashlyn and interact with her -- well, kind of. :) Ashlyn is getting to that age where she's not sleeping all day (which I love) and is so much more aware. So at dinner, she just sat on my lap and looked at everyone.

Then, on Christmas Eve day, we drove down to San Diego to visit with Matt's Aunt Carole and his 3 cousins and their kids. Matt and Mark had lost touch with this side of his family and they reunited on Facebook! Everyone was so excited to get reunited, to meet me and Ashlyn. All the cousins were so sweet and Ashlyn was passed around from person to person all night. After an early dinner in San Diego, we then drove back up to OC and my parents had an open house. Most of my parents good friends were there with all the kids which was super fun. Ashlyn stayed up WAY past her bedtime on Christmas Eve -- she's just like her parents and didn't want to miss out on any fun.

Christmas morning we went back to my parents house where had a delicious brunch, bloody marys, and opened our presents. Ashlyn was pulling on all the ribbons and playing with all the wrapping paper. As you can see from the picture, she loved all the paper and bows - ha!

This Christmas was very special having Ashlyn there with us. Last Christmas was when we announced to the families that we were pregnant, and this Christmas we had her in arms -- we couldn't have asked for anything more!
