Ashlyn's First Birthday Party

I can't believe Ashlyn is almost one (tomorrow). This year has flown by sooo fast! We celebrated Ashlyn's big first birthday by having a pool party/bbq with all our friends and family. The theme was pink and lime green - my Mom and I made these really cute paper flowers out of napkins that we used as centerpieces. I ordered cupcakes from Cinnamon Productions that of course matched and it all turned out really cute. Of course, Ashlyn had to wear a pink birthday onesie and tutu which she loves and kept on almost all day. Of course, on this day, Ashlyn decided that she didn't want to nap at her usual 10am time, which was my biggest fear! I thought this meant she was going to crash right in the middle of her party - but she didn't. I think she new the party was for her because she played and played and played!! When it was time to sing happy bday, everyone gathered around and started singing. She looked at me, looked from left to right, and then had a HUGE grin when she realized everyone was singing to her - she LOVED it! She also LOVED her little cupcake. I eventually had to take it away from her because she would have eaten the entire thing.


Finally, at about 2:30, I saw her sucking her thumb while in the pool with Matt and put her down for a nap. She ended up sleeping from 2:30-5:15 and then down at 7:30pmf or bed. I know she had a great day - we all did!
